Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT)

Corrective Movement System - Assessment and Treatment

Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) uses manual muscle testing and the application of neuroscience to dynamic movement in order to tap into an individuals nervous system to find the root cause of their pain and then improve function. This modality quickly identifies dysfunctional patterns of overworking or underworking muscle groups or ligaments and if scar tissue is involved in the pattern. NKT treats these very specific neuromuscular compensation patterns that your nervous system creates due to previous injuries or dysfunctional movement, imbalanced posture or lifestyle issues. The unique NKT techniques produce an immediate improvement in function.

Scar Treatment - NKT

Scars and trauma have a profound effect on the body including autonomic nervous system imbalance

Scars create adhesions inside the body which can strain and pull fascia, and reduce muscle performance to the point of even neruologially shuting off muscles so they are not activating. That inhibition (weakness) can produce pain and dysfunction and subsequently recruit compensating muscle groups to help out leading to additional discomfort.

Using special techniques from Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) the dysfunction within the nervous system that is impairing muscle function can be corrected and those adhesions can be released and related weak muscles can be reingaged and the pattern reversed. This therapy is relevant to both recent and old surgical and traumatic scars and quite often applies to c-section scars which often inhibit abdominal muscles impairing core stability.
